hi guys and welcome to the channel today I’m going to show you how to change the spark plugs on a Suzuki GSXR k-6 k7 this will work for the 600 and the 750 model and you’re going to need some basic tools ratchets extensions allen keys and a feeler gauge as well to check your spark plug gap and the standard spark plug is a CR 9 e which is made by ng cable there are other varieties you can get for the right alright so you got some basic tools let’s apply of the bike which are just in this back section here on your seat cow whip that off you’ve got your clip top which you’re going to need and your tool kit which got some tools in there alright so the first stage has taken the seat off the bike and so what you’re going to want to do is undo these logs here they’re a 4 mil allen key you do get it included with your kit but it’s easier got a ratchet and
motorcycle fairings you want to do that both sides to be safe safe now hold on little arm so I’m going to disable that on the skin the screen and then you can take your C off right so next what you want to do you want to remove these side panels here so you’ll have a piece of velcro just underhand pull that away and then you slide the panel back towards you just like that you can see you velcro there when you replacing these to make sure you don’t snap anything off there something that both sides the way right in the next step what you want to do is under your main tank bolt and she got a nice long extension you don’t want to be scratching or dairy intake this one’s a six month and key it will wash on there keep them safe then you’re saying we’ll just lift up you want that in there you’ve got stop at the top and that’s got that nice and secure right so in this next section I’m going to show you what to take off your air box as you can see this is your air box so you’ve got these relays which are on rubbers they just pull off can’t keep them clear out the way would be careful because yamaha r6 fairings they’re still attached by their wife so don’t put them too hard just enough to get an off and then this plug here clip be on the top there to leave that just clear as well we’ve got this point a little helpful screwdriver all these hooks if you got one is own pull that clip away a little bit have to do put your hands in the way oh yeah if you get screwdriver in there I’ve already given a little help that comes straight off nice hole either way and then down here bring the camera right here on your frame here I’ve got these little grommets if you like and now you want to push the center in and then just pull it out with your nails be careful not to scratch your frame you don’t want to be getting a screwdriver in there and that’s it pull that out and then in this hole here as you do the other side because that will be easier to show you from that side you’ve got mines miss on the side so somebody’s also already lost that and you get a nice long screwdriver move all the way through if I just take the camera and show you there is a school just down in the well system just moves that screwdriver you can see just in there you should screw so you undo them and that releases the air box off the throttle bodies and that makes it easier for you to pull your air box straight off with these throttle body screws you don’t want to take them right out because you just want to loosen the clamps enough if you take them out they’re going to drop them in your engine bay so don’t take my oh and also forgot to tell you this pipe here they tell you in the manual to take that off first but it’s a lot easier to loosen your air box and pull it up and then take that off afterwards right once you’ve undone on all four body screws what you want to do is come out here and take your main air box all eight sets of ten mil if you’re using the standard equipment they give you you’ll probably have to take this oppa way and have someone hold it for you because it’s a spanner and standard equipment and then once you’ve got your bowling what you want to do is just give it a bit of a bit of persuasion if you like already done it’s more loose but it will be tight what you want to do is get under these two corners and pull it up with your seals will then give and that will come off the floor body and then you can literally pull the whole thing up get to this pipe here alright once you’ve undone this clip and pull this pipe off your air box we could completely play you can pull it out wait might have to take your tango and there is the access to your engine on top of your engine alright so once you’ve got access to the top ear engine it’s time to remove your call packs and spark plugs so I can’t stress enough how important it is to do this one at a time one so you don’t get things muddled up and two because once you put your spark plug out you don’t want to drop anything in the top of your engine so first of all you want to take your call pack plug off by pressing that there pulling that plug eight away then what you want to do they’ll be quite tight these callbacks you just want to give it a nice even pull up towards sort of the front of the bike so get both fingers under that give yamaha r1 fairings it a nice tug okay don’t break these because they’ll be quite expensive so there’s your call pack I’ll leave it over way somewhere safe don’t don’t step on it now with your tool kit you get with a bike you get this tool you spell program over there would be handy to have a spark plug socket with a rubber insert as well to pull the spark plug out 1:6 and loose so that down on the hill locator on the spark plug and then you want to get the spanner on there well I did it by put my spark plug socket on there and actually just crack it off first which is using rubber insert spark plug socket getting that down in there and then getting your wrench on there to do it first and then right off quite fiddly everything in there but once you cracked it off fine just figure 1/8 your own way get a cluster crack and off it shouldn’t be too tight anyway then you get your standard tool supplied with a bike in there give it give it a turn should be quite three there quite little threads on this so you winding for quite a while we should fail when it comes undone not just keep winding for a good while and
then get your socket in there and see if you can pull a there you go the trails undone now let’s come out with this one sometimes they don’t in which case you get to get your rubber insert spark plug socket in there and take out that way all right so once you’ve removed your elf spark plug it should be a CR 90 cause that’s the code for the standard plug you can put our idioms in if you really want – but I figured that these bugs run quite high spec anyway so if this spark plug is doing a good job then why why change if you like and so once I’ve removed my semi else but probably just inspect it to see if your bugs running a little bit so hot if it’s running hot it will be a white or glazed spark plug on the electrode but they should be a light brown in color if it’s operating normally which this one is so there’s your replacement plug so you get forward those obviously which is the C r9e and once you get your old plug a the new plug a to give a visual check and sometimes in transport they can be dropped on their ends or here or if somebody’s returned them because it’s not the right plug they could have changed the gap so we although they’ll be preset what you want to do is just check with a feeler gauge and they recommend between noir point seven and nine point eight millimeter you’re going to see there in your manual yeah so what you want to do is just run your feeler gauge between your electrode and terminal it just make sure it runs through but sort of bites as well it doesn’t want to be too tight you just want to be able to move it around on there you’ll see down in there and that’s fine do that with all four plugs and then we’ll move on right so when you insert in your new spark plug I recommend putting in with your rubber inserted smartflex okay because it saves you dropping your spark plug down in the hole and if you have to use a standard one then well you have to but I prefer doing it this way so and
then in the hole and then what you want to do is you do not want to be cross threading that that’s the worst thing you want to be doing they should go freely down they should not become tight all the way down you should be able to wind it in with your fingers so do it with your fingers don’t use any tools for this bit I’m su part from your socket she’s been nice and free till L see you fail it go tight it should be quiet way down all right there you go so she’s known it and starting to a little bit not G but like they know me I when I get to the bomb there we go you know that’s tight with my fingers and we’ll grab a ratchet all right so once you have done it finger tight you’re going to get a spanner in your standard kit so I’m going to show you how to do it that way so also you want to get your spanner which is a 14 mil on the top there and nipper up you don’t want to be going too mad or this you just want to be and a reasonably tight be sensible this bit that would be enough about not even a quarter of a turn that’s literally that is tight enough just nipped right for this next step once your spark plugs in and tightened up you want to do is put your core pack bag in no little fiddly to get them in the right position and then give it a good firm push with your thumb down and on your new spark plug you should hear it click where it goes over the Suede’s on the plug it’s a little hard to sometimes get the right amount of pressure on us on then you want to get a plugs back on like that unless your spark plug replaced you they want to do you over 300 other three that end one is a little fiddly to get to but move everything over line you’ll be fine and then you want to reinstall everything else in reverse order I’ll tip for you guys when you’re reinstalling your air box what you want to do is push firmly down on these corners of the air box because that’s like quite tight to get back on you can see for our bodies down there so you’ll see when it’s fully home but make sure goes all the way I think guys well now she’s all back together hopefully yours is the same and what you want to do now start your bike up and obviously check that it’s not miss fine or anything weird like that so there’s running I in jail so yeah hopefully she’s a man okay and when you get a chance give a run up the road as well check all out double check it so um hopefully this video was was a help to you and that you enjoyed the video if you did like the video go check out my autofill to change any other maintenance videos about coming up and leave a comment so I always read my comments and subscribe see more videos like this one so until next time all right safe
